Challenge
In 2018, PDVEND was a startup whose main product was a point-of-sale (POS) app for stores. The app offered merchants the advantage of reducing the need for bulky equipment, optimizing physical space and making navigation through the app's features more intuitive. Additionally, the app was integrated with payment machines, significantly enhancing its functionality and providing greater convenience to users. To expand the customer base, the strategy was revamped with the launch of a new website, featuring a modern design, improved visuals, and a user-friendly interface.
Identified hypotheses
-
The presence of multiple devices in a store complicates training and makes learning how to use them more difficult.
-
The technical support provided for the devices is unsatisfactory, negatively impacting the user experience.
-
Many devices take up unnecessary physical space, causing disorganization and affecting productivity.
-
The maintenance of various devices is costly and time-consuming, negatively impacting daily operations.
-
The learning curve for employees is slow due to the complexity of the current systems.
-
Users face difficulties with updates and synchronization between different devices.
Opportunities
-
Improve the app to attract more users and increase user satisfaction.
-
Develop a website to expand reach and acquire new users.
-
Create an educational blog, offering management tips and demonstrating how the app can be a strategic ally for businesses.
-
Integrate invoicing devices (NF) to enhance usability and improve the user experience.
Persona
Based on the information provided and the mapped hypotheses, I developed a persona that served as a guide for the prototyping process. This persona reflects the needs, challenges, and behaviors of the target audience, helping to inform the design and functionality decisions of the product.

App
In the app, I saw the opportunity to implement an onboarding process that clearly presented the key features and integrations available. This would help users better understand the product’s value right from the start. Additionally, I worked to optimize the payment flow, making it more intuitive and streamlined, which improves the user experience and increases transaction efficiency.

Site
On the website, my focus was to highlight the main advantages of the system, emphasizing how it can simplify daily operations and increase efficiency. Additionally, I placed special attention on the integrations with other systems and devices, showing how this connectivity facilitates centralized management of all store activities. By highlighting these benefits, I aimed to ensure that visitors clearly understood the added value the system offers in terms of convenience, speed, and time savings.

Plans
One of the advantages is the ability to use the system on a more modern payment terminal, allowing installation and usage without the need for integrations with the invoicing device.
Additionally, on the website, I created a dedicated pricing plans page. The key differentiator was that we offered two options: the standalone app and the app integrated with a system featuring a dashboard, which enabled more efficient management of sales and inventory. The dashboard allowed users to track real-time metrics, making decision-making and business control more strategic and streamlined.

Blog
On the blog, in addition to creating a list of posts, I implemented a feature where users could subscribe and access an exclusive area for downloading free materials. These resources provided practical support to help store owners manage their businesses more efficiently.

Results
As my first job as a Product Designer, I learned a lot about design and product development strategies. Working directly on the creation and optimization of features, I understood the importance of aligning user needs with business goals. I developed the ability to identify improvement opportunities, both in user experience and in the operational efficiency of the product.
Additionally, I gained a deep understanding of how to create optimized workflows and think strategically, not only in terms of interface but also in how the product integrates with other platforms and devices. I learned the importance of conducting research, gathering feedback, and iterating quickly, ensuring that the proposed solutions not only meet user expectations but also contribute to the business's growth.
This job provided me with a solid foundation in agile methodologies, collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, and the use of analytical tools to measure the success of implementations. Learning about product strategies was fundamental to my development, allowing me to think more critically and creatively to propose innovative solutions.
