Miraculous Strides: Breakthroughs in COVID-19 Vaccines of 2020

The virus continued to spread and mutate throughout the last year with much of the blame placed on a lack of effective global collaboration as a key reason for the prolonged pandemic. The hackathon challenge was to create a solution to improve communication with the population about COVID-19 and how they can help it.

WHAT WE DID

The project was based on a number of complaints registered by healthcare professionals for a lack of PPE in hospitals throughout the country until March 29th, 2020 in Brazil. According to R7 journalist, Joyce Ribeiro said that registered 855 complaints in São Paulo and AMB (Brazilian Medical Association) 2,513 were throughout the country. The situation is extremely gravity, in so far as the contamination of healthcare professionals, expanding furthermore the virus circulation, avoiding larger troubles of facing the pandemic, since a lot of workers have to take time off from work, anticipating health system collapse.

The government said that the Brazilian health system may start to collapse at the end of April due to the coronavirus progress. In this scenario, my team came up with a solution, with the purpose of making social communication easier with the goal of public health system maintenance.

The solution is to create a platform where will be data of hospitals inform which materials and professionals are missing who collected the data are social workers where they prospect people and companies who may donate, deliver, work as a volunteer at hospitals or on our own platform, then people who help may be professionals of different occupations. The money system has the possibility to work as a partnership or crowdfund system for system maintenance.

RESULT

RESEARCH

Initiating our project, we meticulously gathered and analyzed information from diverse media sources, extracting critical insights that resonate with our project's mission.

Our first step involved conducting surveys within the community, aiming to gauge public sentiment and willingness to contribute. Simultaneously, we recognized the need for a dedicated individual, akin to a social worker, to reach out to potential donor companies and foster collaboration. This role was crucial for building partnerships and maintaining a supportive rapport.

The survey primarily targeted individuals interested in contributing, despite financial constraints or job losses. We also identified a segment eager to volunteer their time and skills or create essential materials for donation to hospitals. These findings have significantly influenced our project's development and outreach strategies.

PERSONAS

Then we created an empathy map, based on the survey, to identify the persona who reach out and if our goal was effective.
